At KALA, many of our pieces are made to order, handcrafted, or created specifically for you. We don’t believe in mass production, which means every order begins its journey only after you’ve chosen it.
Because of this, our policies are a little different from buying something off a warehouse shelf.
Changed Your Mind?
Ready-to-Ship Pieces
If you’ve had a change of heart, you may request a cancellation within 24 hours of placing your order, provided it hasn’t already been packed or shipped.
Made-to-Order & Custom Pieces
Once production begins, cancellations are unfortunately not possible.
Our makers, artisans, and workshop team get to work quite quickly, and many pieces are created specifically for you. Once that process starts, there’s no putting the clay back in the ground or the steel back in the sheet.
If production has not yet begun, we’ll do our best to accommodate your request. Any approved refund may be subject to payment gateway, currency conversion, or administrative charges incurred during the transaction.
Returns & Exchanges
Most KALA pieces are made-to-order, custom-finished, or produced in small batches.
For this reason, we do not accept returns or exchanges on:
Made-to-order products
Customised or personalised pieces
Artwork selected or approved by the customer
Sale or discounted items
Pieces that have been used, installed, altered, or damaged after delivery
Please choose thoughtfully. If you’re unsure about a finish, size, material, or colour, we’re always happy to help before you place your order.
If Something Arrives Damaged
While we pack our pieces with a slightly obsessive level of care, accidents can occasionally happen during transit.
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please let us know within 48 hours of delivery.
We’ll need:
Your order number
Photos of the product
Photos of the packaging
A complete unboxing video showing the package being opened and the condition of the item upon arrival
The unboxing video is important as it helps us determine whether the damage occurred during transit or after delivery.
Once reviewed, we may offer:
A replacement
A repair
Store credit
A partial or full refund
Depending on what makes the most sense for the piece and the situation.
Refunds
If a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method used during checkout.
Please allow 5–10 business days for processing, although banks occasionally enjoy taking the scenic route.
Shipping charges, customs duties, VAT, import taxes, and other destination-country fees are generally non-refundable unless the issue was caused by us.
International Orders
We love seeing KALA pieces find homes around the world.
Please note that customs duties, import taxes, VAT, and local handling fees are determined by your country’s regulations and are the responsibility of the customer.
Refunds or cancellations cannot be provided for:
Refusal to pay customs duties or taxes
Customs delays
Import restrictions in the destination country
Incorrect shipping information provided at checkout
Handmade Means Human
Many of our products are handcrafted, hand-finished, or produced using natural materials.
That means slight variations in colour, texture, finish, weld marks, brush patterns, dimensions, or surface character are not defects. They’re part of what makes each piece uniquely yours.
A KALA piece may not be identical to the photograph on the website, and honestly, we think that’s the best part.
